Birdie Ball Lands On The Price Is Right

We've talked before about Birdie Balls, the limited flight practice aid that kind of looks like a "napkin ring", yet flies exactly like a golf ball.:

It seems like their new 'Air Target' chipping game made it onto a popular television game show.

Today’s showcase: Backyard golf equipment!! Birdie Balls got their own showcase on the Price Is Right with what looks to be an inflatable skeet ball machine but for birdie balls. That looks like a cool concept and probably fun for the backyard, but for that retail price it better come with the sexy babe.

Tour Sticks Complement Many Golf At Home Practice Aids

In this video, Hank Haney shows how you can improve your aim and alignment by placing two golf clubs on the ground.

This is a great way to improve your aim, but if you want an alignment guide that is a little more specialized, you may be interested in Tour Sticks.

Toursticks are one of the most popular practice aids in the pro golfing world.

While practicing at the driving range with Tour Sticks is obviously very helpful, there are ways you can get extra use out of this product right in your backyard.

Take a look at some of the innovative ways you can utilize your Tour Sticks:

1) Work On Your Alignment

Now I know it's hard to work on a full swing shot at home, but there are many options to get around this. You can buy a hitting net, or alternative products such as The Rope It or Birdieball. These products all allow you to hit full swing shots in your backyard, giving you a whole new place to practice with your Tour Sticks.

2) Improve Ball Position

Get your ball position fine tuned by using your Tour Sticks like a cross. Place your toes on the line parallel to your swing plane, and keep your club head at the top of the cross.

3) Fine Tune Your Aim

This last use for the Tour Sticks is the one I thought was most interesting. You can create a column in your backyard and attempt to chip through it. If you have precise aim on a short chip, you will lower your scores.

Hopefully this opens up some possible ways to utilize this product past normal conventions. We really like this product and it is one of our key tools in our backyard practice toolbox.

A Boy Hits The Birdie Ball, and His Dog Fetches it. Classic.

A boy and his dog enjoy The Birdie Ball in their own backyard. The kid hits a full swing shot, and the dog chases it down. It must be awesome to have something that much fun to do anytime you want, right in your back yard. Also, the hip-hop smooth jazz soundtrack is awesome.

Here's a group of guys playing a game with it on the beach. Their aim is extremely good with this thing. I'm surprised, they must have been practicing with it a lot.

Golfer Builds Three Hole Mini Course In Backyard

Golden Bear Country Club.

This guy has a 9 hole golf course right in his backyard.
Three Tee-boxes play to a putting green with three holes.
They have floodlights for night golf, and hold a tournament once a year.  He made it onto the golf channel, and he plays golf every day.  Lucky Guy.

Longest shot is 22 yards, bunker, water hazard included.

The Floppy: Indoor Practice Golf Ball

Now you can have the freedom to practice your golf game when ever and where ever you like. The Floppy® will give you the same feel and feedback of a golf ball but without breaking things. Designed for the short game The Floppy® works wonders with your wedges and short irons.

Cool video here of a guy chipping Floppys into a bucket then he goes for it with a real ball!

The Floppy provides a great way to practice your short game indoors, away from the elements. Practice short chips or even hit full swing shots against the wall without breaking anything!

When practicing with The Floppy It is best to have it land on something as close to turf as possible. I found that on carpet it does react very much like a golf ball. It checks up pretty well, and can even spin back a little bit. You can hit it high or low and it will behave predictably. seems like a good way to practice at home.
